I quattro ragazzi formano la band nel 2006 e, grazie al brano Seventeen Forever e ad Internet, ottengono il primo contratto discografico per l'incisione di un EP. Da lì la strada verso il primo album, intitolato Metro Station dal nome del gruppo, è breve e il successo non stenta ad arrivare. Il singolo Shake It permette loro di allargare la propria popolarità oltre i confini degli Stati Uniti, arrivando ad invadere l'Europa. Piccola curiosità: il frontman della band è Mason Musso, fratello di Mitchel Musso più noto come Oliver nella serie Hannah Montana, mentre il chitarrista Trace Cyrus è il fratello maggiore di Miley alias Hannah Montana!
